musivv.com’s new music review segment
“As the name suggests, hailing from Aswan and residing in Cairo, Swani is set to show the music world his talent that has been in the works for more than three years now with his debut release of “Lahab”, just the beginning of a set of releases to be dropped within the upcoming weeks.
The 25-year-old artist stays true to his Aswani
origins, making the use of the accent, dialect, and cultural heritage in his music. A
coder and software engineer by day, rapper and producer by night, Swani’s multiprocessing
mind allows him to delve more into the music world with an inventive
vision, a fatidic ear, and multifaceted vocal eclecticism.
Swani says “Tafi El Lahab” while bringing all heat to his debut, the lyrics mainly depicts the rapper’s views of how the progression of Egyptian hip-hop can be directed into many paths instead of the redundant monotony of how other rappers perceive the genre. There are hypothetically two people talking within the track; the Aswani person talking about his heritage and pride, while the other Cairene is flexing his writing abilities, delineating imagery of stealing the conventional Cairo rapper’s girlfriend with his skills, with the girlfriend symbolizing the rap game.
