The fifth single off the EP 'Life Before Fame,' up-and-coming rapper 88ight comes up a little too short on this last track — quite literally. 'If I Die Tonight' felt like a teaser, but if that's the purpose, then it served well as it leaves the listener 'on-the-edge' and looking for more. Love how the song starts with a guitar pluck. If there's anything lengthy about this song, it would be the intro.

Cutting it shorter to about 10 seconds will make a big difference as it opens a grand entrance for the vocals and excellent rapping skills. The message is straight forward. Perhaps, the strong lyrical vibe in the first four tracks needed a breather on 'If I Die Tonight.' Overall, it is a great way to close an EP. Kudos! Our rating: 3 mic-drops out of 5!
